- Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Rinse asparagus under cold water and pat dry. Snap off tough woody ends or trim with a knife. Divide into 8 equal bundles, about 4-6 spears each depending on thickness.
- Place asparagus bundles in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss gently to coat evenly.
- Wrap each asparagus bundle with one slice of bacon, starting at the tip and spiraling toward the cut end, overlapping slightly. Place bundles seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes until bacon is crisp and asparagus is tender-crisp. For extra crispy bacon, switch to broil for 1-2 minutes at the end, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Transfer to a serving platter using tongs. Serve hot while bacon remains crispy. Great alongside grilled meats or as part of a brunch spread.
